Drought Conservation Measures

Drought Conservation Measures

In response to the BRA Stage 3 Emergency trigger, Mayor Milton Tate has implemented the City of Brenham's Stage 1 voluntary water restrictions effective immediately. These restrictions are voluntary at this point and the City urges its residents and businesses to conserve water throughout these stressful times.

Stage 1 Response - Mild

Water Use Restrictions (Voluntary):

  1. Water customers are requested to voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaped areas to Sundays and Thursdays for customers with a street address ending in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8), and Saturdays and Wednesdays for customers with a street address ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7 or 9), and to irrigate landscapes only between the hours of midnight and 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to midnight on designated watering days.
  2. All operations of the City shall adhere to water use restrictions prescribed for Stage 2 of the Plan.
  3. Water customers are requested to practice water conservation and to minimize or discontinue water use for non-essential purposes.

Pet of the Week February 15, 2012 - 8:45am

Adopt me today!
Lily

Adopt Lily - Lily found her way to the animal shelter because someone found her and didn't know what to do with her. A matter of fact, it was her and all her siblings. They are so sweet and playful. I just know they would make wonderful family pets. Just remember when adopting a puppy, you have to make time for them. They need a little more attention than an adult dog. Miley has received her first shots and wormer. She is ready to start a new life with a new family that will love her forever.

She is available for adoption at:

Brenham Animal Shelter
